Dear Colleagues, distinguished guests, and friends, it is with great honour and heartfelt enthusiasm that I welcome you to the Malaysian Society of Interventional Radiology (MYSIR) Annual Scientific Meeting 2026, taking place from 2nd to 4th July 2026 at the Sheraton Johor Bahru.

This year, we gather under the theme "Head to Toe: Fundamentals to Frontiers – Advancing Interventional Practice Beyond the Lumen." More than a title, it is a shared vision — one that reflects our journey as interventional radiologists: grounded in fundamentals, driven by innovation, and constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible in patient care.

Each year, the Annual Scientific Meeting serves as a vital platform for learning, collaboration, and innovation. Through a comprehensive programme of 2 days, featuring keynote lectures, interactive workshops, and multidisciplinary discussions, we aim to foster meaningful exchanges that will shape the future of IR in our region.

I am especially grateful to our esteemed faculty — both local and international — for sharing their expertise and insights. Their contributions will no doubt enrich our understanding and inspire us to continue pushing boundaries in patient care.

Beyond the academic sessions, I invite all participants to join us for the Gala Dinner on 3rd July 2026, an evening to celebrate camaraderie, reconnect with peers, and reflect on our shared achievements. For our members, the MYSIR Annual General Meeting will also take place during the conference — a key opportunity to chart the direction of our society together.

This meeting is the result of passion, teamwork, and countless hours behind the scenes. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Scientific Committee, sponsors, partners, and dedicated volunteers whose commitment has turned this vision into reality.

Dear colleagues and friends, it is with great pleasure and anticipation that I welcome you to the Malaysian Society of Interventional Radiology (MYSIR) Annual Scientific Meeting 2026, held from 2nd to 4th July 2026 at the Sheraton Johor Bahru. Guided by this year’s theme, “Head to Toe: Fundamentals to Frontiers – Advancing Interventional Practice Beyond the Lumen,” the scientific programme has been thoughtfully curated to reflect both where we stand today and where the future of Interventional Radiology is heading.

As Scientific Chairperson, I am delighted to share that the programme has been crafted to engage participants across all levels of experience. The meeting will commence with a pre-congress workshop, offering hands-on learning and practical insights that translate directly into daily clinical practice. Over the main scientific days, participants can look forward to two concurrent tracks, featuring sessions that span core IR topics, evolving techniques, and contemporary challenges in our field.

This year also marks the introduction of several new and distinctive sessions, created to spark dialogue, encourage interaction, and reimagine how we learn together. These sessions aim to challenge conventional formats, foster meaningful connections, and add a fresh, dynamic layer to the scientific experience.

We are honoured to welcome an outstanding faculty of local and international experts, whose depth of knowledge and clinical experience will anchor the programme. Through lectures, discussions, and shared perspectives, we hope to cultivate an environment where ideas flow freely and innovation finds its footing.

Whether you are an experienced interventionalist or at the beginning of your IR journey, I encourage you to immerse yourself fully in the sessions, engage with colleagues, and take part in the conversations that will shape the future of our specialty.

Dear colleagues and friends, it is a privilege to welcome you to the Malaysian Society of Interventional Radiology (MYSIR) Annual Scientific Meeting 2026, held from 2nd to 4th July 2026 at the Sheraton Johor Bahru. Interventional Radiology is a field defined by movement — from diagnosis to decision, from access to action, from possibility to impact. This year’s theme, “Head to Toe: Fundamentals to Frontiers – Advancing Interventional Practice Beyond the Lumen,” invites us to pause, reflect, and look ahead: to examine how far we have come, and to imagine where the next frontiers of IR may lead us.

As Scientific Chairperson, my vision for this meeting was not simply to assemble a series of lectures, but to create a scientific journey, one that mirrors the realities of modern IR practice. From foundational principles that anchor our daily work, to emerging concepts that challenge existing boundaries, the programme is designed to encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and clinical reflection.

Throughout the meeting, participants will encounter sessions that emphasize not only how we perform procedures but also why we do them, addressing clinical decision-making, evolving technologies, and the expanding role of IR within multidisciplinary care Interactive and newly conceptualized sessions have been intentionally woven into the programme to foster dialogue, shared learning, and mentorship across generations of practitioners.

We are honoured to be joined by a distinguished faculty of local and international experts, whose perspectives reflect the diversity, depth, and dynamism of our speciality. Their contributions will undoubtedly enrich discussion and inspire new ways of thinking about patient-centred intervention.

Whether you are here to refine skills, explore new ideas, or reconnect with the IR community, I encourage you to engage openly, question boldly, and take full ownership of the learning experience. The future of Interventional Radiology will be shaped not only by technology, but by the conversations we have and the values we carry forward.
